To the recent poster, and all their philosophical cohorts, lamenting their inability to find a one in a million human to date: Portland's 145 square miles have an estimated population of 632,000. The reason you can't find that one in million person is Portland doesn't have a million people.

Dial those expectations back a bit, or flee back to a metro with a larger population and a better salary to rent ratio.
