GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! Images of rapture creep into me slowly, as you're going to my head, and my heart beats faster. LET'S GO TO PRESS.

According to a new OPB poll, Portland candidates Ted Wheeler and Steve Novick might not get the cakewalk into office many were expecting. And just as a reminder, the primary election goes down MAY 17—and you can check out our endorsements right here.

At a big, rowdy rally last night in Salem, Bernie Sanders visited Oregon to remind voters that he still thinks he has a chance to win the Democratic nomination and beat Trump in the general. However, according to that OPB poll mentioned earlier, Clinton is leading in Oregon by 15 points.

And while it may be too little, too late, Bernie Sanders took West Virginia in last night's primaries, while Trump took both West Virginia and Nebraska.

Intel—who say they need to get rid of 12,000 jobs across the country—are warning their Oregon employees to take a buyout, or face another round of layoffs.

More and more people are lining up to demand the resignation of Sheriff Dan Staton, as Multnomah County announces it will be launching its own investigation into his alleged misconduct.

OH, and here's another two-faced lie from Donald Trump (collect all 50 billion throughout eternity): Now he's decided he won't be releasing his tax returns before the November election. Uh-huh.

Trump is scheduled to meet with Republicans this Thursday to discuss how he might make himself more palatable to the GOP. Good luck with that! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!

Heidi Cruz, the wife of defeated candidate Ted Cruz, is comparing her husband's failed run for office with the fight to end slavery. (I know Ted elbowed her in the head... has anyone checked her for a concussion?)

In the continuing investigation into the death of Prince, a police warrant shows that Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg has been questioned for prescribing medications to the singer, as well as visiting him on the day before his death.

ISIS is claiming responsibility for a bomb blast in Baghdad that killed 64 people.

Sixteen black West Point cadets who got into trouble for raising "black power" fists in a photo will not be punished by the military academy, because GODDAMN RIGHT THEY WON'T.

Here's your headline of the day: "Alabama drag queen is suspended chief justice's nightmare."

Now let's take a look at the local WEATHER REPORT: Sun, sun, sunny today with a high of 85 (and you can expect the same through Friday).

And finally, unsurprisingly, Kenny Loggin's song "Danger Zone" is a perfect match for these scenes from Star Wars. (I bet George Lucas is kicking himself right now.)
